Car Servicing And Maintenance Services

A SERVICE, NOT A STAMP.
Manufacturer schedule servicing with the correct oil specification, a full vehicle inspection and a written report of what was measured. You get told what needs doing now, what to budget for and what we would leave alone, with the readings to back all three.

What You Are Actually Paying For In A Service

A cheap service is usually an oil change, a filter and a stamp in the book. It takes under an hour, it hides nothing because nothing was looked at, and the first you hear about the worn joint or the corroded brake pipe is when the car fails its test.

A proper service is the oil and filters plus a structured inspection of everything that wears, with measurements written down. Pad thickness in millimetres, tyre depths corner by corner, fluid condition, leaks, play in joints, battery and charging figures, and a diagnostic scan for faults stored quietly in the background. We report all of it, including the items that are fine, because a record of what was measured this year is what tells you next year whether anything has actually moved.

Servicing Options We Offer

Interval Or Oil Service

The basic scheduled service between full services. Engine oil to the correct manufacturer specification, oil filter, a safety inspection and a service reset.

- Engine oil and filter to manufacturer specification
- Fluid levels topped and checked
- Tyre, brake and light safety inspection
- Service indicator reset and record updated

Full Service

The annual service most cars need. Everything in the interval service plus the filters, a fuller inspection and a diagnostic scan.

- Oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter
- Fuel filter where the schedule requires it
- Full inspection with written measurements
- Diagnostic scan of all modules

Major Service

Larger items fall due at longer intervals and get missed when a car moves between garages. A major service catches them together rather than one expensive surprise at a time.

- Spark plugs or diesel fuel filter as scheduled
- Brake fluid and coolant condition testing
- Drive belt, hose and suspension inspection
- Gearbox and differential oil where due

Pre NCT Inspection

Most test failures are ordinary wear items that an inspection would have caught. Checking beforehand cost a fraction of a failure, a repair and a second appointment.

- Brakes, suspension, steering and tyres checked
- Lights, wipers, washers and mirrors
- Emissions and warning light check
- Report of anything likely to fail

Brake Fluid And Coolant Services

The two fluids most often forgotten, and both are time based rather than mileage based. Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air and loses boiling point. Coolant loses its corrosion protection long before it stops looking colourful.

- Brake fluid moisture and boiling point testing
- Full brake fluid replacement and bleed
- Coolant strength testing and replacement
- Cooling system pressure test

Gearbox, Haldex And Differential Oils

Sealed for life rarely means what owners think it means. Automatic gearbox, Haldex and differential oils all degrade, and replacing them is far cheaper than the unit they protect.

- Automatic and DSG gearbox oil and filter services
- Haldex oil and filter servicing
- Front and rear differential oil changes
- Manual gearbox oil replacement

Signs Your Car Is Due A Service

01

The Service Light Or Message Appears

The car is counting down mileage, time or oil condition depending on the model. It is a reminder rather than an alarm, but ignoring it for months is how intervals quietly double.

02

The Oil Level Drops Between Services

Some consumption is normal on certain engines. A level that falls noticeably every few weeks is worth investigating rather than topping up indefinitely.

03

The Engine Sounds Rougher When Cold

Tired oil and a clogged filter both show up first on a cold start, when the oil has to get around the engine quickly and cannot.

04

Fuel Economy Has Slipped

A blocked air filter, dirty injectors, worn plugs, dragging brakes or soft tyres all cost fuel. Economy falling without an obvious reason is usually the cheapest warning you will ever get.

05

The Brake Pedal Feels Different

Longer travel, a softer feel or more noise all point at the braking system, and all of them are checked during a service. Our brake and suspension repairs service picks up anything the inspection finds.

06

It Has Simply Been Twelve Months

Oil degrades with time as well as mileage, and so do brake fluid and coolant. A low mileage car still needs an annual service, and in some ways needs it more.

How A Service Works, Stage By Stage

Stage 01

Book In And Tell Us The History
What the car has had done, what it is due and anything you have noticed. A car with unclear history gets a slightly closer look at the items that tend to be skipped.

Stage 02

Service And Full Inspection
Oil and filters to specification, then the structured inspection with measurements recorded, plus a diagnostic scan for faults stored in the background. Our car diagnostics service handles anything that needs investigating further.

Stage 03

Report, Priorities And Your Approval
You get the findings grouped into what needs doing now, what to plan for and what is simply noted. Nothing beyond the service is carried out without yours say so.

Stage 04

Complete, Record And Hand Back
Service indicator reset, records updated, invoice listing the oil specification and parts used, and the report to keep for next time.

Car Servicing FAQs

Need a quick answer about your vehicle? Call the garage and speak directly with the team.
How much does a car service cost?
It depends on the vehicle, the service level and the oil specification your engine requires. CONFIRM: state your interval, full and major service prices, and what each one includes.
Every twelve months or at the manufacturer mileage interval, whichever comes first. Time matters as much as mileage, because oil, brake fluid and coolant all degrade whether the car moves or not.
No. A manufacturer cannot make your warranty conditional on using its own network for routine servicing, provided the correct schedule is followed, matching quality parts are used and the work is recorded.
An interval service is oil, filter and a safety check. A full service adds the air and pollen filters, a deeper inspection and a diagnostic scan. Major items such as spark plugs and brake fluid fall due at longer intervals again.
Both, and the choice is explained rather than assumed. Filters and oil always meet the manufacturer specification, because that is where cutting corners does real damage.
